Transforming your mental health

Grant Yourself Permission aims to assist those who have experienced loss in a violent or traumatic way by offering a no-peer-pressure introduction to mental health as well as breathing and movement techniques to aid in coping and healing. Grant Yourself Permission understands that people experience grief in many different ways and for many different reasons and was created to help participants become comfortable talking through and recognizing their triggers and provide tools designed to help participants work through and heal from their experiences

A modern approach

Grant Yourself Permission wants to create a safe and supportive environment that is accessible to people who might not have immediate access to grief support and to help rebuild their lives and restore hope.

Mental Health

We prioritize mental health for grief so that we can create a safe space for the community to express their feelings, have support, and access resources that support healing. We intend to break the silence, de-stigmatize vulnerability, and emphasize strength. We look to foster a collective understanding and support system that promotes overall mental well-being.

Healing

It is important that we acknowledge what we feel after grief and loss and the range of emotions that come with it. Taking care of our mental health and engaging in self-care are some of the first steps in healing. This may include talking about it one on one sessions or in groups. Healing is a personal journey and it takes time. We want to help you through that time by assisting you through your grief and loss in a healthy way which can lead to eventual acceptance, growth, and a newfound sense of well-being.

Fresh Starts

Fresh starts can be transformative and empowering. The loss we experienced may never fully fade however it is possible to find a new beginning. A fresh start involves embracing change and allowing ourselves to heal and grow. “Grow through what you go through” is one of our mantras here and it is important to be patient with yourself. Your fresh start may be setting new goals, pursuing new interests or even making physical changes. We hope to help you embrace the chance for growth and renewal and a new outlook on life.

Community

We believe in collective healing and support from your community plays a key role. We see adversity and systemic issues every day. We want to provide a place of solace. We are a rich people with a rich history that is harnessed in strength but also in the villages that support us. Through shared experience and even cultural traditions, we can offer one another empathy and understanding. You are not alone here.
